Sally I had a chick just hatch with a blood glob still attached. Like it hatched before everything was absorbed. Going to bed and will see what it looks like in the morning. Thankfully it is dark so they other chicks will leave it alone.

I had 6 set but 4 were fertile, 1 hatched but died and 2 hatched and lived, the last one died in the shell. I think the humidity was off. Duck eggs were difficult to hatch. Everything was going well seemingly with all 4, but last couple days were rough.



Silly duckling!! don't know why she/he sleeps like this but it's funny!!

been off for a few days and missed like over a 100 posts! have update on ducks...2 live cuteness bundles..sure to be messy soon.

5 from 12 hatched all within 7 hrs of the first pip. I am happy with that given the fact that they arrived in an egg carton with some paper towel between them.

The remaining 4 will stay in the bator till day 22. its barely day 20 now.

Mine was not nearly as bad as that one. It is acting normal. I can't see the gunk any longer and can't tell which one had the problem. Still in the bator. I have a stragler that just pipped early this morning.

Hey guys, well done with the chicks and eggs etc. Sorry I'm neglecting you again. We're very busy house hunting and I've been so distracted this past few days. Good news is we got a GREAT agent helping us find the perfect spot for us and our chickens. She's totally with me on my chicken plans and she's looking for something suitable for us and my plans. We're going to view another property tomorrow in a lovely area with a "couple of acres". So
