18 eggs incubating, I had already culled three. Tonight on day 13, I candled and saw 13 moving and two I am thinking aren't going well. One I see no veins and clear, the other is too dark of an egg for me to see into it so I am leaving it in. :). Not counting them before they hatch but it looks like I'll get some from my first hatch ever! :)

One thing I see is that the air cells are pretty big? Is that an issue? They are big compared to what I see ppl drawing on their eggs at day 16-17 and I'm on day 13. :-/

ideally you should go by weight. are they shipped eggs?

Yes, they were shipped from MT to FL. I'm hatching them upright in a paper egg carton that has the bottom torn out. I'm only able to turn them twice a day but I do it at no more than 45 degree angle. I didn't weigh these. I read everything else on shipped eggs but missed that part.

then as they are shipped, the air cells are probably saddled and look bigger than they are. hang in their

Guess what? CHICKEN BUTT! Speaking of chicken butts, look at this amazingly adorable one that hatched from my bator without me knowing at 12 at night!:

Sophie!!!

She was all hatched out when I woke up to her peeping! I only went to bed two hours before!! I didn't expect it to be that fast! These pics were taken @ 12 last night.

I think she has a bit of brown on her? These were taken this morning.

Her feet and beak are pink, and her beak has a brown/black spot on it. :D

And the fun isn't over- I have another pip! I am glad this hatching stuff is going over so smoothly this time around... I must have done something right! (the pip is on top of the 7- It is kind of a bright spot)

I know I am going to watch this one hatch since I missed Sophie. This one will be named Bell. (I think maybe I will name her Bella, because that sounds more easy to say in a sentence to me)
