Oh that sounds wonderful! I want to do something similar here, but we don't have enough space. I"m working on it though. We used to have a small farm and I had over 100 chickens at one point, hatching and selling eggs and growing veg and raising pigs in-between. It was great! I'll do it all again and add 2 goats and some ducks this time. The people who think we are crazy don't know what they're missing

That is what I say. I only have 2 acres. Wish I had at leas 10. LOL

No, we found the perfect place and the owner promptly put the rent up. After we said we'll take it. I see it's still up for rent at the inflated price. Good luck to them getting that! LOL

Wow that really stinks. Well maybe they will come to their senses but even then would make me hesitate to rent from them after that. Hopefully that perfect place will come along soon.

I will. I'll try and check everyday or so. I have 2 pens, actually 3 because I have 3 ducks in one, plus 2 brooders full of chickens. Takes a lot of time during the day lol. Now that summers coming, garden needs planting, still have have to make my BIG area in the back. for all these new chickens. Going to do a hen community, then have 4 or 5 sections for the different breed roosters. Then 3-4 breeding pens. LOL. I'm telling you, my wife thinks I have lost it.

But it keeps me busy. And I enjoy working outside with the animals and with my gardens and all our plants and flowers. Don't know about my neighbors, but who cares!!

I'm really not like that.

welcome to the thread and the hatching addiction. I just set 25 eggs and if I get any early layers this morning I will throw those in as well. I started out with 5 pullets for eggs. I counted yesterday and have 29 chickens and 2 ducks and eggs in the bator. Oh and I have sold a bunch of hatching eggs and chicks.

Sumi, I can't tell you the amount of times that I had found the "perfect place". I would pray and pray for it, and list all the reasons why I should get it, only to have it fall through. EVERY TIME without fail, I would actually find the real perfect place that was meant for me! And then I was always able to see why I hadn't gotten the other. There is a better place out there, just for you, you'll see.

It was a huge disappointment, but with the situation here as it is, with the property market in bits, there are loads of places to rent, so I'm staying positive. That place would've been great, but I'll keep looking... That mess was probably meant to let us know that was not the right place for us after all. We just need to be patient. I'm sure we'll find something that's just right for us.

LOL sumi....well now I have to say 30 I lost 2 baby blue andalusians

to pasty butt!! I can't believe it!! I don't know what I did wrong? I've never had a problem with that before...I'm so bummed!!

Oh no!

I hate pasty butt! I lost one of my favourite chicks to it and since them I've been checking butts very frequently. My chicks hate it, but I don't care! LOL I found that a splash of ACV in their drink water really helps prevent this.
