I know nothing about hatching ducks but I would leave it.Thank god I looked in on my broodys eggs and one had pipped in the lower middle of the egg and then just kept pecking in that spot and made a big hole she had turned them so he was pip hole facing down in the nest. I picked it up and noticed the outer membrane was all tan and leathery with a bit of blood too. The flap of membrane was stuck to his bill and closed it so he was breathing just through his nostrils. As soon as I took the piece of outer membrane off his bill he started opening his bill like crazy then finally started moving. I took him inside and candled the air cell is all the way on top above him so I chipped away the shell he started and stopped because where it was already gone a lil blood was next to where the membrane meets the shell. I can see the yolk below towards the little end and the blood vessels are pretty small but still there also I took off some of the outer membrane but above his bill the outer membrane is totally stuck to the inner membrane and there's dried blood on the inside of the outer membrane edge so I put bacitracin on the membranes and put him on wet paper towels next to his sibling in the bator who still has yolk and lots of blood vessels left but peeping away. So is it ok to leave some of the outer membrane on there since its stuck to the inner?
I tried to post pics but it won't let me how I always have. It's asking for a URL. I can put them on my profile so how can I get them com my profile to here?
