Here's one for you. My kids noticed my duck eggs pipped in incubator #1. It's 4 days early. The humidity had bottomed out. The sacks had sucked down on them. I hatched 4 out alive. I had to manually do it. The rest were like they should of been at day 24. What the heck happened? I have 24 chicken eggs due to hatch Wednesday in that bator. I don't know if any are alive. I still had everything in the turner. Should I remove the turner early? My thermometers showed a constant 99.5. This is a forced air incubator. I'm real confused.

So its getting late on A friday night for the east coasters.

What a crazy week on BYC.

The incubators anon thread blew up with the little email. A wonderful bunch of stories is crazy addicts confessing made me laugh. Its good to know there are so many others. Then some of them came to visit here an we got a great injection of new blood in this thread. Its fantastic.

I really look forward to seeing the latest round of hatchings succeed.

Good luck fellow bycers.

My hatch in the Philippines is on day 12 as its Saturday there. No candling - just the sniff test for stinkers. 300+ eggs in the hands of Bernie, the Filipino Chicken Phenom.

it will be a great experiment in itself.

The only time the eggs will be handled will be taking them out of turners for lockdown.

I wish I could do the same here but I love candling and seeing eggs come to life.
oh oz! but wouldn't Bernie get a thrill out of candling a few too? Did you show him how they grow last time?
Its a huge undertaking if you ask me! I am so happy for you and the family/s all of yuns!

What breed again? and how many days does that breed duck take?

adding if they are hatching remove turner up humidity if you had some stuff already the rest may be too, you may have to candle and tap them to look for internal pips and movement, you have the assist link right?

I candled and every single 17 duck eggs have veining! OMG yes all 17! and I am so sure of hot and cold spots in my incubator now too! some are growing faster that are more centered in the bator! its so full I haven't been rotating them like I usually do, and yes I have them double stacked some too!

OZ do you think I should set the blue and greenish eggs and throw the rest in the woods? I don't want chicks I cant get rid of. do you think people would buy EE's is it worth the hassle and room of brooder?
