What a nightmare hatch!!! A 5 day hatch. I should learn a lot from this one. Hope the next 3 are better. I have one starting on the 18th and another on the 20 and one on the 21st. removed the turner on the ones for the 18th and will turn by hand. I think the temp must of been high since the duck eggs hatched 4 days early. Ive got to get some better thermometers for the next go around. I have some dollars invested in these eggs. I only had 10 bucks invested in the buff eggs and the duck eggs were from my ducks but the last two hatches are from expensive shipped eggs and I already know that I have a lot of infertile eggs from one shipper.oh holy moly Doug, those are not near ready and OMG you have wet big chicks! is this the bator that ran too low temps right?
awwwww
Just remember you NEVER EVER take shell off below the air cell line unless your trying to find the malposition ones.
But holy molasses those chicks are FILLING those eggs up!
Good question! Is there a difference between Show girls and NN? These are show girls, yes? and is a male one still a Show girl? i hear you laughing Sassylly. Cute..?! But not for me either.....I had a really hard time looking at my silkie Mutt roo! No beard, he looked like a VULTURE before he got older.
Now he looks like a white leghorn with silkied feathers, skin, and wattles, Leghorn shaped comb, mulberry in color

you are learning a ton of stuff with these hatches, I have no doubt your next will be much better!
Quote: i answered lol if i am not mistaken from what i was told the showgirls are turken or nn with silkie specifically and the nn have no silkie ... that is what i was told
hmm maybe ill go over and help research more though ... maybe lol i do know a male showgirl is still called a showgirl ... i used to have a white showgirl he was gorgeous ... i gave him away ...

that you did! and cuteness in kitties!!
they can kick out prematurely with assisting and have not absorbed the yolk! they have to have NO BLOOD at all. do not remove membrane only shell ABOVE AIR CELL leave the membranes intact! they can get out and if you see its only hairlike HAIRLIKE lines only then do they need help, typically they can get out, yours are big so it may not be the case, but I also think they will absorb slower than usual too!One of the three kicked out. Its the one that I peeled a lot of the shell back for it. Should I peel more shell for the other two as well?
