Just got my first dozen of hatching eggs!!

Now I know why I buy chicks. Now I never got them before, but are they always this porous?? Suppose to be the same breed but 8 are very small, light colored and very porous. 4 are large very dark eggs. People talk about the air cell on shipped eggs, heck I can't even see one!!

I don't think I will ever order shipping eggs again.

Im with you. Ive had three terrible hatches from my shipped eggs. It would of been cheaper to buy chicks even though they cost a lot more. I thought I was saving money. WRONG. I will only buy local eggs or live chicks from now on.

its true ya know! sometimes its weird! at least when there are like 15 at the same time!

IF you cant see them they are small fresh and intact! unless its marans and u cant see in them! THIS IS A WONDERFUL THING!!! I have hatched porous without issues many times so don't fret!

I think I should make another bator.

I only added 14 more eggs when I took the ones out that had to go into lockdown. But like I said, I have another dozen due today or tomorrow, and another next week from NYwins. So if I can just get through these batches and GET THOSE DUCKS AND TURKEY out I should be ok!

Ducks don't seem to mind the piggy back at all, they are all growing very strong they are on day 16 I think!

Yea he said they were layed Saturday and Sunday. He just said the small ones are from the pullets and the larger dark ones are from a few of his older girls. We'll see.
