Such a small world! Hubs is combat engineer as well although in the last several years he has been doing multiple different things. Currently he is with a boat company building floating bridges, and he has dabbled a bit with EOD. Not something I like, but something he assures me is completely safe...uh huh, not buying it. Last tour to Afghanistan they were doing route clearance...not a safe job either. Engineers are still here, MPs are here as well as a chemical school. He went through basic and AIT here in 95. And will now be retiring here. We've come full circle I guess. They very recently changed the MOS numbers so I have no clue what he is anymore. It's a great area to live in. What MOS is your hubby? My dad was a combat engineer. Helped build the lake out there and then stuck around to be range cadre at the dustbowl for the AIT kids until he retired. I wonder if they're still training the engineers out there? Last I knew, they had moved the MP school out there. I was in one of the last MP classes to go through that school when it was at McClellan, before they decommissioned the base. Gah, makes me feel SO old.
I bet that area of MO has all really grown out since I was last there in '91.
Best of luck to you and your family.
