Just like that, he is gone. I last seen movement 6:20 am, went to do the chickens and came back and saw a little yellow red mark on the pure white at the bottom undersideish of the egg, I couldn't get him to move so I know he tried to pip and drowned. When I picked it up it was stiff and I pushed on the area and it was indeed his beak. I tried to get his beak out but I knew he was already gone. I wont tell the kid unless he asks. I had a feeling he wouldn't be able to turn because without the shell it was a tad flat . : (

He was nice and big and nice white under his chin too : ( What I don't get is there wasn't too much fluid, yolk wasn't all absorbed he just couldn't get those lungs to air. I am not sure I could have done anything for him but see what he does. It was exciting waiting and wishing for the little thing for sure. : ( I was up three times just to check on him last night. I know I am nuts. I felt bad too, because I have 3 turkey hatching and those buttons in there and they are being ignored. When they should be the exciting chicks! At least they are now! they have all my attention.

RIP Humpty, look how white that outer membrane remained though. I can say, I have no doubt if this little guy could have turned he would have lived.

Hey Lady, awwww.
You know all is not for naught. As you did with your children, you did with us Your "chickies". This was a learning life experience of accident, anatomy and hope. There was excitement of seeing this tiny creature struggle to go on about living and developing. We watched and learned so much about that prescious white membrane, seeing the chicken turn itself, and hearing that delightful chirp. So close!!

Thanks again for all you do and continue to do! This will certainly be another one of those unique life experiences for your lucky, grounded and loved 2 children.

P.S. I think the extra notes, observations and pics/videos would still be of interest if you have any time to compile. Take good care of yourself.

That was 5 posts too, so will say adios for now my friends!!
I'll BE BACH! <spoken like a true Arnold>

They were the normal size but all loose and some saddles which made them appear larger I suppose.
I can tell that this will be a challenge with many assists (if they live) but I'm up for it, better than just hanging around.
