Quote: OMG I sat with them just watching them all day! I thought it was too cold that they keep monkey piling, but the thermo read 108 in the corner! so I had to adjust it lower! I think they just love being together. The assist one is so cute! If it wasn't for its head color I wouldn't tell the diference!
He has a white head instead of yellow TOO COOL! HARMONY wants to keep it, oops caps locks stuck! and my C sticks or don't work at all!!!

well I'm seriously bummed!! out of 12 eggs only 1 is viable and went into lockdown tonight!

on the upside of the 12 from Nevada 8 are fluttering away and will go into lockdown next sunday

had to put elvis (my bantam cochin) on a timeout he was either beating up or trying to mate my NH red hen that has a bum leg.
So I removed him for the night, will see if his attitude improves spending the night by himself.

oh no Hill! what up with the eggs?

bad cochin!

Incubating question: I have a friend that got a new still air for a hatcher. she moved her eggs over for lock down. Candled and all was well. Nothing hatched. I assumed it was her temp but she said she calibrated a thermometer and it was only 1 degree different from her other one. So the only thing I could think of was having the still air set to 99.5 instead of 102. Any other thought. Oh and the eggs were good. Mine and another local.
with a still air 99.5 would make the hatch be later ... that is what happened with my very first hatch . it was 2/3 days late but i did not know then that still air needs a higher temp ...
