Just assisted the last two. Yolk sacks have been absorbed but a little blood on the umbilical chords. I put a little ointment on them and laid them on a wet paper towel. turned up the temp a little and gonna leave them and see what happens.

Quote: Hi Christina! I haven't seen any issues with mine so far, they are about 10-11 weeks old, how old are yours? I am soooo mad too! I just realized that I do have a roo! and I just spent a fortune on two other roos because I didn't think I had any! Now I will have to sell off the roos! ugggggg I read on the other thread that around 7-8 weeks you can tell roos! So I was certain they were all hens! This one is getting wattles and his eye/face area is getting alittle more pinkish than the others are still all white! uggggggg

greetings

happy mothers day to all chicken and human mamas

We are back from the conference in Denver. We took a road trip to Pueblo, CO, An amazing historical place.

Now we have 30 hours to get Mrs Oz packed and on her way back to the Philippines.
OZ is back!!!!!
I missed you ozexpat!

Don't know what's going on with my temps but I've had spikes and lows. May of killed 80 something Eggs. Had a 120 spike. That was a stupid mistake. I left the temperature probe that shuts the thermostat off in the wrong place. It wasn't there long, but 120???? I'll let them go a few days and check it out.

Another bator had a 108 and I don't know when. It shows the spike but its normal now.

Then one bator was at 95 when I looked at it.

Hopefully everything is back on track. Luckily I only had 12.50 in all those eggs.
oh crap!!!!

Cooked my wife and kids fried wild turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy for Mother's Day. Everyone chowed down. They love when I cook. I guess I never mentioned that I used to be a chef and have cooked in many restaurants when I was younger. When we don't open a box or a can or eat out, it's me doing the cooking. Since I hunt and fish a lot, we eat a lot of wild game. Fish and home made hush puppies are one of my specialties. By the way, I have my own hunting Facebook page and website too. I don't know if I'm allowed to post it here.
awesome! ohhhh are hush puppies hard to make? I never made them but I love them! DH mom is from Alabama but she cant cook!
