AAAWWWWWW Sil-y- Sil- your babies are so cute!!!!!!

Sal-y-Sal- I read all that to DH, about the quails, he said, "i don't care, whatever....since they are a 1/3 the size of a chicken and half the size of a d'uccle that means you can get twice as many"
He still is not quite up on the chicken math thing, and quail math......i;m thinkin means that I could get 4 x as many as I have chickens

I said b4 he is a good egg...........now I will say he is a quail egg

Thanks for the great quail info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they are cute but they test my patience already lol peep peep all day and night for the past like 3 nights lol
Im thinking quail might be a neat project when i get settled too ... button quail thru emus lol

Hi all, I wanted to pop in here and say hi - hope I'm in the right spot! These cuties are my two day old Khaki / Aylesbury cross and Aylesbury ducks - 'Patch' and 'Ming-Ming' With all thanks due to Sallys fantastic article on assisted hatching these two made it out unlike their sibling who was not so lucky

I'm not sure what went wrong and why they got into difficulty. They were all in the correct position and were actively trying to pip the shell but no success. They were also pretty moist. I really think that the shells were too hard. Even when
I cook with the duck eggs its some job to crack them open!
I'm so thrilled to add these two gorgeous babies to my collection of birds

If it is smaller than a chicken, I guess I have the go ahead, but mine will not let me have any peafowl or .....God forbid.......emus or ostrichs.....good thing I don't want any of those, but pea fowl......
