You can do IT!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, that sounds great, and details? do ya just throw the whole chicken in there and pour beer on it and squeeze the lime and lemon on it, sprinkle the thyme, then roast?

I'm sorry I forgot to answer this!! I mixed thyme and butter and rubbed it under the skin then halved a lemon and lime took a few slices off of each and put them under the skin too. The rest of the lemon and lime I shoved inside the cavity of the bird then poured beer inside the bird till it started overflowing. Once cooked I made gravy out of the stock by adding a little honey and thickening it.It turned out pretty ****** tasty. Super pleased as I just winged it off the top of my head!

6 chicks so far (shipped eggs)and no only a little over a hundred total........I think. Hard to count all those little buggers running around.

I had chicks With poopy butt today. Had a mound of poop pasted to their butts. I held 4 of them under the faucet until I was able to get it off and cleaned several more. All seems good now.

Quick funny. One of the baby chicks that's living with mom in the chicken yard caught a grass hopper today. It had mom and chicks chasing it all over the place. It would stop and try to eat it and they would catch up and it would take off again. I was rolling. It was great. The best part was when it finally got away and threw it up and swallowed it down. I about busted a gut. I wish I could of caught it on tape. I had left the phone in the house.

I turned out 37 more chicks into the chicken pen today. Since its much warmer, I'm putting barely feathered chicks out tomorrow into the grow pen.

Everyone have a super fantastic weekend.

YW ..its our daily summary ... i do one everyday but saturdays ... sat and sun are a combined weekend post !!
Silver, I love being able to read your notes! Makes me feel like I'm staying connected and up to date even though we're not hatching right now. Also, so much valuable info, will be sooo helpful next time we do hatch.

Thanks a bunches.

If you put some Olive Oil on a q-tip and rub on there butts and feathers it won't stick to there butts.

Final count: all 4 Serama's hatched! Two very light yellows and two black/tan. 2 silkys one light one dark, and one...well Sebright/polish...it is a beautiful buttery yellow. Pics soon when I transfer.

QUESTION: my darker silkie pipped the wrong end and was a full day later than everybody else. Its feet are curled in and it isn't walking yet... creeping along really. Its only been 2 hours since hatch. What can I do if anything?

If you are going to fix that, you'll need to do it a.s.a.p. There's great info on foot and leg problems and how to fix them here:

Good luck with her!
