Yikes... I just looked at it closer. I can't find where her navel ends. It's all connected. It's not something protruding from the navel like I had originally thought, but rather it is the navel. It looks similar to a hernia... I guess only time with tell...

My 2 that were detached hatched tonight! One was right I the middle when it zipped, but I got out all by itself!!

Awwww chicks and bunnies and BABIES!!!! love them all!! how many bunnies?
7 for sure... maybe 8. There is always that pile of bunnies when you see an extra foot or ear. They are only about 6 days old so I can't go rummaging around in the nest to count for sure.

I'm curious Sally what color these Serama's will be? I love them. They hop right into my hand when I'm putting food in. They also butt right under the three bigger chicks wings for the extra cozy spot. I could watch them all day.

Hello to all, I have a quick question. I have a ducklings that I have helped to hatch, but I think it was too soon, I did not take them all the way out of their shells, I have read how to help hatching chicks, so there were no blood, I made sure of it, but I know about egg sack so I left them alone, but it has been 6 hours and they not trying to get out or opening eyes, they pip and breath and sometimes opening and clothing their bills. What do I do now, did I ruined it? It looked as if they were shrink wraped, like there were two membranes and all of it was too ruff and dry. By the way those eggs were under the duck all this time, until I came and saw that one of them was a little broke, as if the mother duck tried to help them out or stepped on it by accident. There is more eggs, but I tried to help only for 2. Please let me know if I did something not smart.

Now I would normally be super duper excited, but my piggy is 4 years old and way too old to be bred. So I need to be prepared to run her the the emergency vet's office if she has trouble delivering. She is due in about a week or two. I can feel maybe 3 babies wiggling around in there.
I was old with my last set of kids and I did fine : O

How exciting though! I always wanted one and then I got a hamster and it bit me the turd!

Quote: Everyone that gets them loves them. and they can be ANY color combos which can be really awesome! you wont get the full coloring until month 4 then just like that its like WOW! They are extremely friendly and sweet. They have become our most fav chickens along with our Russian Orloffs, OMGoodness the orloffs are so sweet and cute!

In fact everyone I sold pairs to has asked for more! I had a batch of inferts so I am praying for more in the bator now! The one lady has been selling off every silkie because she wants only the serama. One breed all colors, small little poo and little feed and ADORABLE! one thing I noticed is they get broody easy! I have to keep them out of them coop all the time, after a day in isolation outside the pen they forget about it! lol

oh you have a great chance for frizzle too, that happens to turn the feather tips around 2-3 weeks of age.
