I hope so. After years of working with some of the south American parrots, I never thought I'd care about talking ability again.
But I wanted something shoulder safe and not too high on the decibel scale. Not interested in the too/tiel dust, and didn't see much point in spending the extra for the almost-mature bourkes.
He's taming down so quickly. Already enjoying head scritches and riding my finger. He's got some unopened necklace feathers I'm sure he'd like me to help with later today. He has no idea how much he will like that.
I think he is already mumbling some phrases, too. Fairly sure I heard kissy noises this am. Yes, had originally wanted an English, but the only breeder I could find is a state and a half away, and s/he has a waiting list. I was impatient. Tho I did get a lecture from the pet store worker about how "this is a
parakeet, not a budgie. Budgies look a lot alike, but are bigger and mellower."
It was a case of far easier to just smile and nod and say "Really?"
I have one obstinate production red broody. She's two years old, and hasn't laid in like nine months. She has an impressive set of spurs, too.
Good luck with your girl!
Oh, poor fellow. I'm so sorry about Gooselynn.
