Production RIR's. Sold 4 yesterday. And the guy that came buy to get them was an old singer from one of the bands I was in years ago. We both almost fell over.

I guess a coon killed his wives RIR the night before so he was replacing it. Just so happened he found my add. Small small world. lol.

I am very close to throwing in the towel and not going for NPIP and keeping my CCL, serama and brahma and selling off the other breeds. I am having way too much stress, with all this rain this month it stinks so bad, the runs are terrible mess and I used to have fun and enjoy this, now its a major pain in the butt and I slipped and fell and got chicken **** all over me including in my hair when I fell! My dogs don't require the work my chickens do, DH wants to know why I didn't just open a kennel. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good question and I guess I should have if I could afford to build one!

Sorry for the rant I am miserable and confused and confused and even more confused.

Should I stay or should I go now... dam song been running in my head all day long!!!

STAY!!!!!! I know where your coming from here too. Rain, rain, rain. But just remember it won't last forever. Take it day by day. Don't stress over things you can't control. Do what you can and move on.

Took the chick in. Talked to the vet. She started going through everything. She asked. Do u have turkeys with them. I said yes. She said that's it. She just went through it herself and just finished a class two weeks ago on it. She lost a bunch of chicks too and didn't know why. She called it something. I'm adding a capful of bleach to everything and spraying everything down With bleach and selling the turkey poults.

Can you find out exactly what is is and what are you treating them with? I'd like to know more about this.

My vet is calling the state lab this morning when they get in. She is going to find out all the information she can get and see if they have any more recommendations.

I had called and left a message and she called me right back this morning.

Cant you get worms under your pile of chicken poop? we used to lay a bale of straw down and within a week it was filled underneath it!

One of my silkie chicks was dead under the heater. It was fine a couple of hours ago, running around. I can`t see a reason. It has a clean behind. No obvious injury. It was 9 days old today, hatched at my home. Everything I am using is brand new. Is there any precautions I should take with the others?
