It is most definitely a bad thing not to have in your life. Lovely birds. Sounds like you have enough on your hands already though!I have all sorts of things in my life but never CROADS. Maybe thats a bad thing.
Mid Thigh in croads. Just as well they are chickens. It is most definitely a bad thing not to have in your life. Lovely birds. Sounds like you have enough on your hands already though!
Pictures working now since I downloaded Google Chrome. Still wasn't working this morning with internet explorer.
Here is a picture of a couple of my Langshan roaming around the yard. Roosters are VERY tall. I'm 5'4" and he is around mid thigh on me. Their feathers are getting ruffled in this picture by the wind.
From what I could tell candling last night the air cells looked as if I picked them out of my own nests. I will be able to tell more after they begin to grow. I set the eggs a little bit ago. I am stressing out already. I bought some expensive barnvelder eggs recently and while the air-cell were horrible, 11 of 17 were developing. 9 made it to lock down and not a single chick hatched. Then I realize the likely problem, my egg turner was unplugged the WHOLE time! I didn't even realize it. So spacey these days. Once I plugged it back in I couldn't believe I didn't notice the lack of noise coming from the incubator.Such a dumb mistake...![]()

ahhhh interesting! you found someone that has a bator like that! cool!! and to be completely honest, I did the test once and cant remember so you will have to follow her instructions on that link. I tend to investigate on my own after most hatch is complete.
That's so cute!!roasting. I love summer. Ice in all the waterers. Fans going in the coops.
I think I might have pushed my broody hen to her limit of accepting chicks from the incubator. I gave her two more this morning. She was on her way out with the two remaining chicks. She saw me and the chicks and went back in her nest and clucked to everyone to come. I sat with her a while until she let the newbies under her. After that I figured she would be fine. I love a good broody. I have 6 eggs left in the bator. 2 should hatch tonight or tomorrow. Guess I will have to set up a brooder.
Ditto! I sure hope his chicks are on the mend.where is Doug??
Quote: I see! and I am very allergic to Ancef. The Internal Med doc had it admin via pic line when I had osteomyelitis in my foot bone and just when I was already half dead, it wasn't a pretty scene so my X husband tells me and he said it took less than 5 minutes to closely taking what life I was hanging on to.
