1 out 160 to go

my God what do you do with so many chicks

Nothing died today. I had one this morning that was looking like it was going to die. I put it out in the sun with its on mix of meds. I put it back with the others tonight. Hopefully the meds are taking hold.

I am realy hoping you find the answer to whats happening to you. It must be so hard to see them die and not knowing how to help the others.

Chad was trying to go get a chukar hen from his place and throw it in the car with Harmony but I wouldn't let him give one to her. I just got rid of so many birds I don't need more!

bigger than a quail, smaller than a chicken. not as good eating as either either

i wont get 160 to hatch. i will be happy with 60. its a game of numbers and horrific attrition when you put the stresses I place on those poor eggs.

I will breed the survivors and establish the breeds in their new country. - and also guarantee I have farm fresh eggs to eat when I am there.

Quote: I figured as the eggs are bigger than my serama. Do they need an enclosed coop or open just covered? I will have to find some info on them, Chad didn't tell me much but I was too busy trying to get away from more birds thrown in my car, remember a few weeks before that's how I came by the adult cots! he grabbed one and made harmony hold it in the car, she wouldn't throw it out the window as instructed by her mother! lol so we ended up with a small rabbit cage with cots in it! Chad is a great guy its just I don't want no mas!

they will need a covered coop. they will fly short bursts. gets some guineas, peafowls and pheasants and throw them in with the chux. it will make a pretty coop

I wish you were not serious, as I have a huge open wood shed that has a cord or two of wood and nothing else LOL!
I have half the bunch incubating as we type. Now I have Bernie coping with a "multi-hatch" - I just may see if I can add a 100 mixed partridge and pheasant eggs to the foray. LOL
