This evening sucked really bad. I had to cull one of my young black chicks. Well I guess they are around 7 weeks. Anyway. Not sure if it was the heat or she got injured but found her standing on her head. Wry neck symptoms. Crap always happens with the most prized.

I wonder where everyone is getting this Styrofoam, I tried to find it and its way expensive to make any money selling eggs using it.

I wonder if you went to an upholsterer to ask if they had any scrap pieces of foam they would give you? It looks like that type of foam.

Ive never seen an ugly puppy. These are certainly adorable

No more weak chicks. About 3 that still have fluffed feathers but they are eating like theirs no tomorrow. I added apple cider vinegar to all my water last night DVD everything seems extra perky today.

I've got to separate my ducks and geese from the chickens. They won't leave the water alone. They spill more than gets drank. Time to build set the separate pens back up.

I was looking for it online, some sorta sticky film used in your field. I would assume like they add over pic lines and such on skin? I don't know what to call it to search LOL! you shoulda seen what "sticky stuff" popped up!

Are ya'll talking about Tegaderm, perhaps? Duoderm? Couldn't find the original post referenced....

I would say you could! sounds like an awesome plan too! let us know how it works out for you!

The only thing Im concerned about is that they were in the incubator so if they were set the same days as ones under broody COULD they be a little late or early due to temp differences between my incubator and a momma incubator UGH, all this experienting drives me bonkers!

Ack!!!! I have a Lavender Ameraucana that is externally pipping the wrong way. . I've open it's air hole and it seems like a strong willed little thing. I was careful and there's only a little blood so I think it is doing well and pretty far along in being ready to hatch. I'm going to bed now that I've open his breathing area and will check him again tomorrow to see if he needs help. I hope it makes it. I got a lavender split (black chick) last time and I really want an actual lavender Ameraucana chick. It looks to be the lavender color too. . Send positive thoughts please!!! I've got a couple others that pipped internally too.
