They are doing a little better. I'm going to give them a bath again today. I didn't want to traumatize them more than I had to yesterday. The super sticky one is a little fighter. She keeps running around the brooder peeping, and chasing after the other chicks (even though she's way off balance because of her stuck wing). Yesterday I didn't think she was going to make it, today I think she'll be OK.

Staycations are the best except we always end up working ourselves dead tired. Work hard play hard.
:fl that stuff is like super glue.

i give them a soak in 100f water. just keep the face out

I do too. I continue to clean them until its all off. Then I dry them as best I can. Then put them back in t he bator or directly under the light.

Yeah watch the face, I almost drown a poor little poult the other day.

Here are the 3 assisted hatch chicks that couldn't move in the shell. I removed the outer shell. I covered them with ointment. About 12 hours later, I removed most of the lining. Their was a lot of blood. I put more ointment on. A few hours later, I removed them from everything. I put ointment on the bloody navels and the unabsorbed yolk sacks. I wet two paper towels down with hot water and placed the three of them on it side by side and covered them like you would kids in the bed. That's how I left them last night. This morning they were moving around so I put them in the brooder.

Quote: I have found my very best days are the hardest worked days which I achieve my own goals. And you sound like your just like me! Happy Birthday too! what did the family have planned for you?

Today I finally cleaned aside our shed and stacked over 80 skids (yea I am skid horder) and kept out the best ones for a project we are doing, I will share when its done! I burnt scrap wood during our downpours, felt most awesome to cool off and see the heavy rain pounding the fire but the fire burnt on! Tomorrow we have our outside shed conversion runs to finally start. We converted the silkie pen and run into an aviary type thing the other day. its awesome and the spitz love the room! Only minor work on that yet. So besides that I have planned garage cleaning and rearranging, power washing the house and shed, painting the converted shed/grow out pens too. I will take a tight skid and paint both sides for the end of the driveway that says "English Springer Spaniel Puppies" and a image of a liver and white springer head in the middle and my cell no at the bottom, but I think I will buy letter stencil's though. Letters are hard to paint and takes too much time for what I need it for. Other than that.... POOL time! DH said no knobels amusement park as he don't want to go without me and got mad when I said then he can stay home with puppies and I will take them... DOH!

Question I cant use hen saddles as its too freaking hot, what on earth should I do for these brahma hens, they are starting to look a mess the poor things! Will they bleed on their backs too?
