Sally you sound just like us. Only I can't get Dh to help with chicken building much anymore. He is starting to help take care of them so that is something. We didn't do much yesterday. Had everyone over last night for nachos and fun. I made my own birthday dinner.

I had one of my 7 week old chicks come up with a neck wound so I put her in the box with the other injured girl. Hopefully they get along. I am needing to remove some of my older cockerels from that pen. Pretty sure they are causing all the injuries. I need to get some leg bands before I start moving everyone around again so I can remember who came from where.

I was just talking last night about going to an amusement park. I think my little guy is still too young to make the expense worth while.

Sounds like you had a fun time with Bday supper and nachos! yum!!!

sorry about another injury! uggggg

I just found a spitz hen dead with her head stuck through the fence when I locked them up last night, usually I close before dark but Mom and Dad were here so I didn't get there till later, wonder what got her! they are stubborn with going in at night in the new coop and stuff. All my fault too. sucks she was a big pretty one!

I love the little knobels park, I don't have to pay a thing if I don't want to ride! you can do tickets or all day passes, its all full of trees in the mountains in a valley so its beautiful and awesome! I love doing evenings I hate crowds! plenty of benches in the shade almost at eat ride too! They really think about their patrons, they are amazing owners of a wonderful family part! we choose that over Hershey park and dorney any day of the week, and I may add we live closer to both dorney and Hershey Park! Hershey is horrible, hardly any benches or shade to be found anywhere, long lines and expensive drinks!

Quail its beginning day 17 - 15 out 8 are pipped
I will add, they were NOT in the hatcher yet and they hatched at 25% humidity, just saying! (oh and they were all stuck in that wire bottom, NOT made for hatching quail!) DH came and helped me save the tiny things!

Put my 1st eggs in lockdown!!!:rolleyes: IDK how many lavender orp to lemon cuckoo orp eggs I have now under two broodies supposed to hatch same day (July 4th) but I am hopeful for 13 of them and the ones in the bator I have are two of my own EE cross and one lavender orp with a really wonky air sac :/ I penciled the air sac...have them all hatching in styrofoam egg upright so we will see...So NERVOUS! I did a dry incubation in a still air so I am waiting I guess until I hear a PIP to fill reservoirs with water!? I have paper towel in their too I can squirt through holes too if needed or should I put some water in their now? GAH! haha....

You need to candle every few hours starting day 19. sometimes they don't make a peep until they have externally pipped and you want to raise your humidity before they externally pip the shell. If temp has been spot on most internal pipping will happen day 20 with them making the break for it on day 21.

Oh I am praying they do well for you!! Weird that your own eggs would have wonky air cells! How old were the eggs, sometimes older eggs with bigger cells do this.... hmmm Unless they are already into hatching position, keep an eye on them! YAY!!
