do you have an update? did it pip?

It was shrink wrapped :( I didn't up my humidity fast enough I suppose, some said not to add water till pip but in my case I think I needed water before pip...I finally after working with it all day got the babies head free so we will see if she/he pushes out at all...I'm letting her rest but NOW her little egg mate of course shrunk wrapped too...So that ones a little behind but at least pipped good on its own, I just moistened its membrane really good, have it in a towel and will see how it fairs tonight and in the am...I don't really want to help it remotely until tomorrow...hopefully. ugh! I hate shrink wrapped chicks!!!!!!

However I did forget to mention that I saw 5 hatched babies of my shipped eggs under my momma tonight :D One lavender and 4 lemon cuckoo I think! Sounded like a circus...there were 12 in there so hopefully more pop out overnight! Hoping my two under my other momma start hatching :/ Poor thing...she's had a rough couple hatches but she LOVES her breaks and my other momma sits tight more so maybe that's why hers are a little behind? ((Yes. I'm trying to justify)) ;)

The 100 local eggs from Odyssey Farms are a bust. Its been 120F out there all week. I had a vendor ship me very small peafowl eggs. I contacted him. He mislabeled the packages. Somebody else is in for a shock when they hatch their jumbo swedish flower hens.

LMAO!! that's funny!! Probably think they feed them swedes miracle gro!

Recent FL sunset on the bay in Destin, FL!

Cutie Serama hatched and jumped back in the egg carton.

Two seramas with three LF chicks looking at them.

The brown serama has been at death's door but I'm hopeful it will make it. It's not really eating or drinking on it's own but it takes my nutritional mixture but syringe and has started holding it's head up and walking. I have been giving it a mixture of raw yolk, poly-v liquid vitamin drops, and sav-a-chick water to thin it out. I'll keep you posted! My next hatch is going well, Day 7 amd I have culled 6 eggs out of 25 but the other embryos look good.

I lost my first chicken yesterday. My 19 week old Cornish x pullet. It's been over 105 for almost a week now, and the heat got to her. I have fans and misters out, but she cuddled up in the garage, and got too hot. :(. That's my first one that has died (unintentionally). I guess out of 100+ chicks and chickens I've had, it's not too bad. I've had full term eggs not hatch, but no actual chickens. I feel bad that I wasn't home to check on her.

Ok we candled the other 30 eggs last night lots of movement and vains we only had to pull 3 so I'm very happy about that the three where clear so I knew nothing had grown in there so I'm hopefull and happy fourth to those who celebrate it!

ohhhh he is really neat! he better make it! how u know its a boy! try grow gel! I cant stress enough how this is easier to give to weak chicks, when they chirp you can get a tiny ball of grow gel into them, with water and nutrients and teach them to eat too! I think this is why I don't loose quail after hatch!
