I have near 30 eggs going into lockdown tomorrow. These will be my first non-shipped eggs. They are the eggs of our January hatch that are all grown up.

The hatch rate will go a long way to helping us understand the incubation process versus shipped eggs.
AWESOME! I must have missed that you set your own! YAY!!! they will me mixed or have you set up your pens yet>?

Sally had a question about Brahmas. Do there eggs start off small and get bigger as they mature. Mine just started laying. The eggs are very small for such a big bird. lol
all pullet eggs begin smaller and can be odd shaped and have issues, then later on they will get larger, HOWEVER even though the brahma are large birds their eggs are not bigger than normal, my little EE and RIR lay the biggest eggs on my property! I stopped fermenting until its cooler again, and I noticed that their eggs are now smaller than what they were, ALL my girls eggs, so its sure proven the effects of the FF! I just wish it wouldn't go molding in the summer, sometime I need to read that FF thread and see what others are doing about it, I am so paranoid of mold and my girls its not worth it right now, but I will start in September again so for now they get wet feed with a tad of ACV to keep bugs away from it (fruit flies are a pain with wet feed!)

They still get FF right now. I just make sure it only last the day. Or at least by morning there is very little left.
