Agree, I like them stiring the eggs up, gets them moving and hatching! Most of the time they don't have a problem being moved around.
Those that freak about it hatch in egg cartons.
HA! I have a brahma brat that is mean as heck and I finally said screw it, have some eggs! then the brat pushed half out and the others stepped on them and crushed the eggs! uggggg I shoulda sold them instead but since they took a break during the heat I thought I would set the few I got until I can get enough for the next order!I think I will let all my hens go broody so I wont get any more eggs.
it should be ok if its ready to hatch! you can add a damp paper towel under it, the white membrane just under the shell is still intact?Sally hope you are still on
.Just had a disaster!
. LO and LAM chicks due today
Got thinking how will i tell them apart in the same bator.so put tgether 2 Styrofoam egg carton lids as a barrier between the eggs I pushed it in ...it was tight and when donr saw to my horror I had crushed the small end of an egg!
I ssw the baby move and thought I heard it peep but one is out so might have been that one ...anyway I can see its back its that open There is no blood so thats good or any goo coming out at all but it cracked open almost just like a zip at the wrong end and then split up the egg shell but that's not open there just cracked I can see his back its very open at that small end..so question...should I open the bator and put a wet paper towel on him not sure hes alive now. though or just let it be.? I am on the fence. No other eggs have a pip or zip that i see .
Ill say I just tried to look in the window and its full of confiscation except a tiny spot and when I looked my very full bator was overrun by at least 9 little bodys of many colors it is very exciting I did it I will post pics for all you helpers to see when I get them out wich is tomarrow or the next day depending on how long it takes the rest of the eggs to hatchAgree, I like them stiring the eggs up, gets them moving and hatching!
