. I've given several eggs to neighbors and friends for hatching, they are all bantam and to small to sell.

Was wondering where you guys store your hatching eggs and how long you store them?

i don't store mine the greatest, but i always have pretty good hatches. i keep them in the building where my incubators are, and i turn them when i feed and water. to turn them i just prop one carton against another and switch directions.

i usually don't hold anything over a week. i wont put anything over 2 weeks in my incubator.

Quote: I had to go out and buy materials today to build more pens. Tomorrow Im starting on two more grow out pens. Sigh.
I just keep my eggs in the nests until I decide to do something with them. I think its to hot to keep them like that though. I just candled 42 eggs and only 12 were good. Im not upset though.

I've had an empty bator for 2 weeks now. I was done hatching for the year, but then I had a moment of weakness. I have 25+ button quail eggs, and 6 Maran eggs that should be here Monday or Tuesday. I know nothing about quail.... I'm not even sure I need quail... What do you do with Button Quail anyway?

From what I've read...clean a lot! lol

just put 8 turkey and duck eggs in the hatcher basket. tossed 40 :/ some duds some quitters. moving in 3 weeks +/- so i prolly wont set any more in the bator till im moved. no chicks of any sort from any of the broodys yet. If i cant wind down i may take the mag out and candle some. Starting to wonder if the bedding may be heating the eggs too hot. ive got a probe thermometer thats my backup on the ultrabator. might snatch that and put it under the hens and see whats up.
