Quote: The pond is also raised 3 feet. Thankfully they are domesticated Sebastopol geese and they can't even get over a 2 foot barrier.

The ducks could easily get over that.... but they stay very close to the barn.

I seen one of these little guys try to take down a 14 lb. rooster. if I can figure out how, my camera takes videos ill see if I can get one showing an attitude for you. it seems so weird, our smallest chickens have the biggest attitudes.

you have got to be kidding me!!!!! bumblefoot is bad chicks really bad, I think I would cull before attempting surgery again depending on the hen : ( its hard to care for a hen for all that time in healing yet alone do the surgery : ( so so sorry!
I did attempt the surgery tonight. I don't know if I did very good. I soaked her feet in epsom salt water. Then removed the scabs and tried to get gunk out but nothing came out. Put the vetricyne spray gel on and bandaged. My 6 year old was my assistant. She is isolated in a cage so I can keep track of her. If she heals cool if not then I will just do what I have done a lot lately and end her misery. If it wasn't one of my black hens I probably would have culled.

I just figured out that my roosters in the main coop decided to switch dominance today. Tom Jr. is almost 5 years old and has always been dominant, but Alexander who is 2 1/2 years old has taken over. Tom Jr. didn't allow Alexander to mate, but other than that, he respected him. Alexander, however, seems to be abusing his newly found power. Both are a bit beat up with bloody combs and wattles, but they should be ok.

I just feel bad for Tom Jr. He's always slept on the top roost with his favorite girls, but now he's confined to a ground level nesting box. Alexander bullies him at every chance he gets. I'm seriously considering finding a new home for Alexander, but I love them both so much.

I wrapped his wings with vet wrap and I was told to leave them that way for 7 - 10 days. Poor little Gooser, haha. Thanks for the response!

No prob! I used vet wrap at first, but the gosling yanked at it constantly and the other geese started to go after it (I only had colored vet-wrap). So I switched to white medical tape. The gosling didn't bother it, and the others left him alone. It took about a week before the tape started to come off from bathing and grooming, so it worked out well!
