I am dyeing just waiting to candle my first hatching eggs for the first time tomorrow! I have no idea how many might be fertile or not :D But tomorrow is day 7 for batch 1. The candler that came with my bator is worthless, but I made one tonight that should work

Well today sucked we lost power twice once for 3 hours and once for 4 hours and my niece let my buffs out to play with the other chickens so now one of my buff hens got got by both my EE and my silver lace Roos so I can't sell the buff eggs as pure for a mo lol and there's a mangy coyote running around to close to my house

we all have some days like that. keep smiling and look out for that yote

Afternoon report on my bator is 102 and 37%. I lower the temp in my house too so that might help with humidity.

Sally!!!!! The eggs arrived safely. So the smaller tan ones are the serama (I think there were 11 of them?)? Then the beautiful green one's were WFBSxAm and the bigger whites were the WFBSxPolish? Just making sure I have this down correctly! Have you hatched any of the crosses yet? Is there photos somewhere or info on these crosses? Just curious. Thank you so much!
Awesome! Thanks Kay! and you have it straight! and I have no clue if anyone crossed them, not many people have the WFS.

my WFS now reside in with my spitz! spitz don't mind but WFS roo is MADDDDDDDDD!!! he wants all his girls! LOL oh well, now I can put all the CCL out in the layer pen without worryin he will bully them! my job for the day, move CCL and some brahma grow outs and clean the grow out pens!!

With a forced air bator, should I be moving eggs around? I was planning to rearrange them some when I candle them on day 7. Should I be moving them routinely?
I always move them, almost every turn, but I don't have a turner, and I must admit I just pulled a lot of bad eggs from Chads turner, like almost all of the pheasant n quail. Not sure what is the issue. I did notice the embryos died around day 14, strange. But all my eggs are good. so it may be an issue with the parents of the eggs.
