I know ive forgotten some. I also have pearl guineas, Silver Pied and White Pied Peacocks. Another Peacock that I cant remember what it is right now. Swedish Ducks, African Geese. Canada Goose, turkeys, and a few other odds and ends.

. This chick has a big squishy lump on its head. It's a wellsummer. Also might have mushy chick disease. Should I cull it? I hate to see it suffer but I need an easy way to do it for myself as well please.

are you sure the air cells were ok? 40-50 for duration sounds like a high number, I know oz has not choice to hatch high humidity, but it may be why the bigger ones didn't make it. And I have fans in all models so I am not sure what to tell you as far as the heat. you move the eggs around in the bator?
indeed

if you can get the humidity down lower it will be better. in a bigger hatch like the one that will start friday, I wont even up the humidity all all. Its currently 46 in my bator with a couple of mini dehumidifiers pulling a cup of water our each day.

this hatch I dropped by once degree F to 99.3 to try and give them an extra day to hatch as I was getting chicks early day 19 and a a pile of drownings. hopefully the lower temp will give them a little more chance.

I can't help you actual decision to cull but what I do is wrap baby chick fully in a paper towel then place in a sandwich baggie. I then check for where it's neck is and use a sharp pair of scissors to sever the neck completely and quickly. I don't see it happen, I then close the baggie and dispose of it.

So after 8 months of working on it, I have finally narrowed down my list of breeds I absolutely must have.
