Help - is that just some sort of yolk sack that is white and clear twisted gut looking stuff or is that really the guts???

That stuff next to his foot in this pic? That is "egg gunk" and is perfectly normal. I've seen it lots of times with my chicks. The ones that takes a bit longer to hatch seems to have this gunky mess in the shell with them. It's gross, but nothing to worry about. Congrats on your beautiful chick!

This one is our super fast hatcher - only pipped a bit ago and out completely in minutes, LOL! Glad it is OK!! First chick out

Sweet! I had a very, very late hatcher once. Day 25. I sat and watched her zip and hatch in about 3-4 minutes. She kicked the shell off, laid there for a little while catching her breath and then tried to stand up and walk! I've never seen such a strong, active newborn. It was like she knew she was really late and was saying "Hang on, wait for me, I'm coming!!" LOL

yeah this one is walking and wrapping her egg gunk cord around her feet :/ and steeping all over it. I am thinking I need to cut it so her guts don't get pulled out - worried momma.

OK, the egg gunk is still attached to the navel - clip it?
No. It will come off by itself soon.

ETA: Just saw your second post. If there's that much I will trim it a bit, but not too close to the navel. Just remove the bit that is tripping her up and don't pull on it. It can cause bleeding.

that was holding him inside the egg i think he looks fine to me he should be fine dont worrie about it if it where his guts he wouldnt be standing up trust me :) he wouldnt even be tempting to.

She broke out of it - I can't see if there is any blood though as she is belly down. I am worried about my dry membrane guy though. It looks like cardboard. pipped at 9pm yesterday.
I've no idea what time it is by you now, so I can't tell if it's been too long. But I know they can sometimes take awhile to get going after pipping. Check Sally's assisted hatch article just in case you need to help, but leave him as long as possible first. Good luck!

This is where I am at with my dry membrane chick. He pipped 17.5 hours ago with no attempt to unzip.

"A chick is troubled if it's pipped but hasn't started unzipping AFTER 18-24 hours, or if the bit of exposed membrane around the pipping hole is starting to turn tan and dry."

I can see the membrane is beginning to adhere to his beak and I am noticing his head, although at the right end of the egg is turned the opposite direction of all the other pipped chicks. I think I remember a malposition chart... going to look for that.
