Diary & Notes ~ Air Cell Detatched SHIPPED Chicken Eggs for incubation and hatching

OK, so here is a new question for you... I have 3 Breda eggs. They are only on day 5, but since I was candling others I decided to shine a light down on them and see if I could see any development. All 3 have veining (these are local eggs) but one had no air cell and the center of the vein mass was at the top. I was confused so took it out to examine it more closely and found the small end had a spider web of cracks on it  and a large air cell in the small end. I had to turn it over to drip the candle wax on it and the mass got shifted all around inside trying to float to the other end. I was conflicted as to which end to put up when putting it back in the bator but decided I should leave it large end up/air cell down since that is how it had been developing. I realize the prospects for this egg are not good. I only had 4 and hand carried them home. When I got home one was cracked too badly to be repaired and I didn't see these cracks at all since they were at the wrong end. I am figuring the %&*^(*&^*&^ speed bump that I didn't see on the way home is responsible for the cracked eggs. The shells are very thin on these eggs as well so that doesn't help. Anyone had one like this? Did it survive to chickhood?

Lockdown is so boring... I am sooo on the edge of my seat. Can't wait!

Doug you wife is gorgeous! Make sure you tell her so, I looked nothing like that when I was preggo. Can't wait to see pictures of your baby, you human baby that is

I was just thinking about this yesterday. She looks absolutely stunning and she's 8 months pregnant. I wish I was that lucky... When I was 8 months gone I told DH I feel like one of our cows (who had a calf shortly before I had DS) and instead of murmuring something sympathetic he told me looked like a cow too!

Fortunately for him shortly before that I made the mistake of getting down on my hunches so I could stoke the fire in the stove and I couldn't get up, so I couldn't slap him. And when I complained by my gynae about it, he told told me I look like a lemon on a stick

West Coast was probably lower because of heat wave. So far socal local makes a little difference but that trip accross the pacific is a good equalizer.

If I knew I could offload the chicks, I would ship 100 and set 100 in Anaheim of all three groups and have my roommate turn on the incubator here at the same time. I just cant cull up to 300 chicks for an experiment.

Hi everyone! I don't have time to catch up but stopping in to say hello, very busy here with a tiny baby and 7 newborn puppies! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Okay, so I wanna build a small Serama coop for my lone Serama roo, Tweet, and this is a conversation I had with my mom:

*Just finished explaining my plan for a mini coop*

Me-So mom, Tweet is gonna be lonely in his coop, and I want to start showing my Seramas, and Tweet has a few faults, but I think his babies would do good.
Mom-Well who are you gonna breed him with?
Me-Well, we can get him a few pullets.
Mom-From where? No hatcheries sell them.
Me-Well, I'm sure some BYC-ers have some for sale.
Mom-Okay, tell you what. If you successfully build Tweet a coop, you can get some girls for him.

SO I AM DETERMINED TO BUILD A GOOD COOP FOR HIM! Lol.
