My calls lasted one winter sold them in the spring. No more ducks ever again
Why did you decide to sell yours?
This is my first winter with waterfowl and I'm worried that my ducks and geese will become too much work.

Quote: We thought they were too much work, due to our stupidness one ducks. We filled a pool nearly every day for them, had to de-ice it, they were messy and everything was wet. They were noisy and well.....I don't like ducks, they are cute and all, but never again. If I had a large barn I would get a goose though.
I am thinking the same thing, froze already! ugggggWinter is coming.... I found ice that was 1/2 inch thick in the duck pool this morning. All the water dishes froze, but thankfully the ice was thin enough for most of the birds to peck through.
I guess I finally need to order those new heated water dishes.
Anyone tried this? http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/11/make-cookie-tin-waterer-heater-under-10.htmlI am thinking the same thing, froze already! uggggg
Quote: nope, but this year I have those thermostat outlets, the cheap ones that I will add heat lamps to, that will keep them from freezing as well.
i didn't have the brains to have my husband make these for me so we just bought them at the ts store. so much easier than hauling water up to the coops.
Sending out a bunch Monday. When I was going send before the deaths stopped so I thought I had it figured out.I am so so sorry your going through this! you did have a bird sent out right? this is very very odd! Have you by chanced messaged Dawg and see what he suggests? I think you will need to send a live bird out for testing or something more. so sad. have you found any dead wild birds around too?
