Sending out a bunch Monday. When I was going send before the deaths stopped so I thought I had it figured out.
I'm so sorry you have to go through this

I wish I could help, but I'm baffled.

She's great, isn't she? She had me in stitches yesterday.

One of my momma hens went broody again. She only just weaned her chicks, laid a few eggs and decided yesterday she's ready for the next round. I have her last egg and thank goodness the white momma hen laid her first egg since going broody, this morning. So I have 2 eggs so far for broody to hatch. I'm going to wait a bit longer and collect a few more eggs before I give them to her though. It's pointless having her sit on only 2.

I am still in sick chicken hell :( Meanwhile I have 15 of 18 shipped eggs (Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana from Lark Rise) in lockdown and 10 of 11 surviving chicks in a different brooder than these will go into. Necropsy subjects will be shipped off tomorrow - 9 bodies but I don't think they will all fit. So will be sending one from each symptom group with a long history on each. Fingers crossed they can tell me quickly what it is so hopefully I can vax all these new babies against it before they ever go outside.

Awesome! How do the chicks look? Did they all turn out red?

My babies with the injured beaks are doing great. I see lots of new beak growth and it looks like their old beaks will eventually fall off.

I was at a poultry show yesterday. I told myself I wouldn't buy anything, but I put cages in the back of my car just in case.

I bought a nice pair of black cochin bantams which was great, but someone how I was also talked into buying a trio of butterscotch call ducks. They're adorable, but why did I just buy more ducks before winter?
