I was outside this morning moving roosters into separate cages in a coop. They were out in their rooster bachelor pads but after finding them full of snow because my tarp had blown off I decided for their safety and my sanity and well being they should be inside. Tomorrows high is 19. That is colder than our normal lows. I know you northern people don't feel sorry for us southerners but you all at least expect to be freezing cold. We expect to only need a winter coat occasionally and mostly just a sweatshirt for our weather. This is crazy!!!

I hate the cold.
me too, my Raynauds isnt likin it one bit, my house hasnt seen over 62 for days now, my RA has me grounded, I have been sitting and laying on the couch with blankets and taking pain meds!

Yes, the extreme cold has started. The worst will happen overnight (- 30 degrees). Tomorrow's high is - 18.

I'm really worried about my geese. I love them so dearly. Being home is one thing, but now that I'm in another state, all I can do is pray for the best.

Tomorrow we're travelling to the University of Madison to check out their poultry science program which includes a college tour. brrr....

I spent a day in Madison one summer. its was beautiful. our limo driver told me they had two seasons in milwalkie - winter and road works

I had just 2 nights in state but loved it, then again i have only experienced road works season.

I am sponsoring my new employee at cocobeach poultry to get a bachelors in animal science. i would love to do it myself

Awesome!

The seasons are the same for MN. During the summer you can't get anywhere because of all the road construction, and during the winter you can't get anywhere because of icy roads.

Despite the cold, I have to admit that what I have seen has been beautiful. Lots of gorgeous landscapes. Southern MN is mostly farm fields. Corn and soybeans fields go on for miles.
