I always incubate at 45-50% humidity and I've had excellent hatches, quite a few 95-100%

Me thinks you live in de desert and not the beach?

Semi-desert region, Ireland and finally 200 yards from the beach. I used the same settings all this time. Humidity in the house was 80% the other day. Yuck. Downside of living so close to the sea.

LOL thanks sumi, she is told that nonstop! She wants to be a teacher

I told her kids are a pain in the butt but she just doesnt care!

Hubs came to me last night and said, "I found a 9 year old in my bed reading, READING, now what 9 year old does such a thing? ONLY YOURS! " ha ha ha thank God she has some of my traits! I love that girl! But she is such a slob, she never puts anything away, her own little world!!
Modelling's more fun and it pays better

I used to lie in bed reading when I was her age. I still do now and then, when I have time and a decent book to read.

I just got my faverolle eggs in the mail and put them into my bator sans agua lets start taking bets on the outcome. Will they be shrink wrapped by day 21 or will they be perfect? In the past, when I've put ANY water in my bator at all, I end up with small air cells and drowned chicks. This will be the test Sumi because I too live very close to the water (look up Bettie, NC and you'll see what I mean).

Hey, non-sequitor here. Check out the Lego movie if you can, Its awesome!

Sally, that coop that I got is on my profile because I wrote a BYC review of it.

My husband will not rest this year until I get him some CornishXRocks (I prefer to call them frankenchickens). Lets ignore the money I've spent on my beautiful free range Bresse. I ordered six of them and six BBbronze turkeys for freezer camp this year. I told him that I didn't want to order these unnatural chickens, that he would be the one to build them lodging (cause they're not staying in my free-range coop, getting it all dirty and freaking my free rangers out with their bizarre looks. He's going to have to buy their feed and, even though he did get me to agree to kill them (wuss), he would be dressing those dirty birds out. He'll see the reality of the chicken that you get in the supermarket.

I think your doing great, now its time to breath and start reading the assisting hatching article.....
I only see that you may perhaps need to help those malpositions in an attempt to salvage them if they do not pip.
Guide to ASSISTED Hatching

You will really need to study this article and understand the process they are going through, Most PEOPLE help too soon.  You need to know MALPOSITION anatomy and such, ALL info is in the article!

I have found TYPICALLY if they have an external pip and my humidity is correct they will hatch. I NEVER pick at pips.
If I notice a few eggs that are not doing any external pipping about 6-12 hours after the majority has externally pipped, thats when I candle the ones that are not externally pipped and see if I still have life, if I have internal pips I write and activity in the shell, I make a circle where I see that internal pip and write the time on the egg, so I can watch it.  If you have no life FOLLOW the steps in the article.  SOME hatches have delays of up to 24 hours depending on breeds and such.  ONLY YOU know whats in the bator!

I have a feeling you will hatch perfectly if you can have patience! BREATH, instead of fretting read read read!  Watch videos of hatching and such! Gather as much info as you can!   BE PREPARED for everything and anything!

You got this girl! IN THE BAG!

Thanks for the link Sally. I think I have read the assist a chick about 4 times now. If it works anything like staying at a Holiday express then I'm in good shape!!! :lau

I will try to relax now and just watch and wait. :pop

LMAO!! There aint nuttin like a Holiday express!!! Crack me up!! ha ha ha

Oh Crap, I forgot to weigh them before I put them in again! It becomes hard to figure out if they have lost enough weight. (Slapping forehead with hand). At least I just put them in this time, they haven't had time to lose that much weight yet. Off to weigh some eggs.
