I had this happen to me with this batch wonder if its the cold, the eggs were not frozen. Coch did you ever read about the people that hatch eggs from the fridge? I wonder how many they actually get to hatch.

I hope it warms up as well, I thought it was to this week but obviously not yet.

Temperatures were below zero all last week. I tried to collect eggs every 2 hours, but with - 20 degree temperatures, the eggs freeze almost as fast as they're laid.

Thankfully it's warmer this week. It's supposed to reach 25 degree today!

These first two pictures are the same egg I wasn't sure which one was more clear. This looks like a blood ring to me. I pulled it out but haven't thrown it out yet.

Next another blood ring? Also pulled it it's right by the other one sitting in my closet! Haha

Finally this is how the other 16 look with veins and are darker

Any advice?

yes they look like blood rings and last 16 look good, I wouldnt chuck the bloods yet, after my last bad decision I would hate for you to do the same. If it dont stink keep it just a tad longer what day is this?

when is everyones next candle?  I think lockdown for my little bunch is friday, gotta look.  I think half are dead as I had a drop in styro bator 94 and who knows how long.  I am not using that anymore 

That kind of happened to me yesterday! I woke up and my incubator was 98.8 so I adjusted it and all day I swear I was checking it every half hour to an hour and Iit was all over the place. 100 back to 99. Finally I got it to stay between 99.5 and 99.7 I agree so frustrating! My husband was teasing me because I'm so OCD with this hobby!!

Haha knock on wood! I will put them back in till day 14 then check.

I had one explode during my second hatch. I was new and I was simply following the short instructions that came with my styrofoam incubator.

It happened on day 19 and the odor was horrible. I heard the 'bang' and quickly cleaned all of the eggs and rinsed out the incubator as best as I could. After the hatch, I spent hours trying to bleach the smell out. Yuck.

You'll be able to smell a stinky egg days before it explodes.

It was... I've also had one explode underneath a broody hen.

One day I walked into the barn and I was met with a foul odor. I checked the broody and sure enough she and her eggs were covered in the stinky mess. I bathed her as quickly as I could and washed the remaining 6 eggs. 5 of them hatched.
