That article was interesting. Pretty sure it has more to do with laziness on my part. I took forever getting them trimmed up and then only drug myself out once or twice a day to collect when it was cold. So now that it is warming up and I have trimmed we will see if it makes a difference. I need to start collecting for hatching again.

I took out the two blood rings today and opened them they didn't even have an embryo or anything they must have been infertile.

Its my understanding that only an embryo causes veining and in turn at demise spills into a blood ring collection

Harmony's new Blood Serama hatch, obviously not pures

like she needs.... as two are FRIZZLED!!!!

She SOOOO Needs to bring in a pure straight featherd small serama to bring back some of the tail lifts and a few other things!
She was upset but I told her we will find some somewheres She can pick through the females and keep breeders but the rest have to go.

if you didn't see anything it was probably a very early demise. Like day 4ish. Not much to see at that point except veins.

Experienced Hatchers....I have a dilemma and need advice. I recently bought a Brinsea Eco 20 manual turn incubator. My other incubator is an old (1999) LG still air, manual turn incubator. I just bought an automatic turner for the LG. I have local barnyard mixed eggs coming and hopefully a few shipped specialty breeds. Last years shipped eggs not good. My DH has just informed me that he is gone on business for the first 8 days of incubation. I work 12 hour shifts and he is my egg turner when I work. Question..Do I start them in the LG with automatic turner and no fan, and move them at day 8( when husband returns) to the Brinsea manual w/ fan? Will I totally screw up the hatch moving them. What is more important the first 7 days ? I appreciate any input. Lynn Marie
