I have done 3 hatches so far this year. Not very good.

Only about 58%. I have tried on all 3 to hatch in the cartons. Probably will lay them down on this next run I'm starting to day.

The thing is after day 14 candling they are ALL moving. So it seems like it's something to do when I lock them down. And the ones that are hatching are random all over. So it's not just in the back or middle or front. You know what i mean. It seems like when they start hatching, what ever day it is, if they don't all hatch the other eggs won't hatch after that day.

And they are still hatching early. This last run I even put the temp down 1 degree. I might try with the next run to lower it even one more degree. I have an endless supply of eggs. So I can experiment. Does cost me anything. lol. Humidity during the first 18 days about 43% and lock down I can get it up to 69%.

Any ideas on lock down.

Yea I was maybe thinking that. Maybe that's why breeders only breed during a certain time of the year. Even though my windows are closed I can check the humidity outside and it really effects everything that is going on in the bator. My first run this year only got like 7 out of 24. Was so dry in here I had to open all the windows in that room so the humidity would go up.

My issues have been big fat sticky chicks. I had to start running the bator dry. They can't get into position to pip or when they do they can't turn to zip. My guess for you is that your humidity is too high but I have not seen your air cells to say that for sure. Even when my air cells look good there still seems to be too much clear space around the chicks on day 18. I am about to put another batch in. Hoping that with nicer weather I will be setting better eggs and will get better results.

Actually that sounds like mine. When you look in there it's all chick besides the air cell which looks pretty good. I had one this time around that couldn't turn too. It pipped but that was it. The pip was in the middle. Mine the way it looks has no space to turn very good. Maybe developing to early. That's why I'm going to turn the temp down a degree. I just cracked open a few of the none hatch eggs and they were ALL developed. Never soaked up the yoke.

Yaaaay! Go Chickies, go!!

Do you all know how much iron is too much? I used a human probiotic to start my FF and didn't realize til later that it has iron in it. 1.8 mg per capsule, I used three capsules.
It has already started to bubble after only about 24 hours! I hope it isn't ruined! It smells very yeasty too...I wasn't expecting that, it's supposed to be lacto-fermentation instead of yeast fermentation.

Oh, AND I left my house heater off all night so it was VERY cold in y bedroom when I woke up, where my Styrofoam incubator is located. Hoping my babies are still okay in there. Day 15.

Um....HELP! I'm probably over reacting but I just candle the eggs (don't tell the DH) and one of the new ducks is attached at the very top of the egg. I also can't find the air cell now. I will try to get a picture next time I turn them but is this a bad thing? I'm pretty sure it's #24.
