There was one earlier about hatching out a chick in a bra. The bra look is what I have with several of mine. It starts on the end narrows and then gets big again on the side.

Have you added the acv to help with the mold? Not really sure what I would do about that.

No I ended up letting it run out and I put a drop of nonscented bleach in a glass of water and cleaned it out with a toothpic, the ACV didn't do anything! I will let it stay "dry" until I get the Humidity down, its back up to 60% again! RAIN!! Hopefully being cleaned and dried out for a few days will fix my mold issue! Stupid stuff, stupid stuff!! None of this "stuff" was in my research! lol

What kind of tube did you run through the turner hole? You have too much humidity and I don't have enough. I am on Day 14 and lock down is in 4 days and I can't figure out how to keep my hum idity up without opening the lid everyday to add water.

Aquarium Tubing... the kids CVS medicine syrynge fits the end. Did you try a straw or connecting two together? It sounds like you need more "surface" area covered with water. you have a few days to figure it out, after reading I think its fine to open the bator up until lockdown, I turn 3 times a day by hand. You may need a sponge then, that way you can add right into the sponge with a straw or tube just remember to put it where you can get at it from that access hole.

Certainly makes sense. I have never let any hens set on any eggs as of yet so I dont really know their habits, but one should assume they have to eat poop and drink like us! lol Thanks The dehumidifier is already making a difference, just have to watch that it doesnt take too much out of the air... will keep checking every hour to make sure its getting stabilized.

Up til now, I've only hatched through broody hens. In the beginning, they do leave the nest for upwards of 20 30 minutes, at least once a day. It gets shorter the closer to hatch it gets. And, though I'm not sure since I am unable to sit with them 24/7, it would appear that near hatch time, they do not leave the nest at all, for any reason.

AMAZING that they "know" how long and when the end is near!! Birds of any sort amaze me, migration and all that is wayyyy cool!!

I am out of the weighing too since I couldnt weigh in the correct grams, so air sack tracking is the best we can do! I love pinterest!! let me know what name you are under and I will do the same! u can msg it! I try to only pin stuff that will help and is cool, some people just pin stupid stuff lol.... its GREAT way to store info!

Going to candle everyone at the next turning since I have a few that I think are dead. also going to see if I can get some straws to work for water.
