For comparison with Halo: one of my white Silkies at less than a week old. The picture was taken under the red heat lamp, and I tried to adjust for that, but basically the chicks appeared clearly white with possibly a little yellowish tone around the neck.

I had to go look it up. (OCD.) This is in the text of MPC's Blue Silkie Hatching Eggs page.
While the information is there, I think it's wrong to label the product as "Blue Silkie" and should be labeled "Blue/Black/Splash Silkie." MPC should not rely on the small print to make this clear. That's not fair of them.


Due to the genetics of the blue plumage color, your birds will hatch in blue, black and splash: about 50% of your chicks will be blue, 25% will be black and 25% will be splash (which is white or light blue, often with darker blue flecks in the wings and tail).

That is his black skin you see... Lol... I am gonna rig a small brooder for him at nappy time... FAN is horrible!! told you all!!!

So cute! He is a miracle considering everything. It took mine a while to get fully fluffed and I completely paniced about their color. I wanted Black Orpingtons and these hatched out with lots of white. I have been reassured looking at others pics that my chicks are black orps and the white fluff will be replaced with black feathers when they come in. Still not sure how convinced I am since a couple have white wing feathers.

Since he is so tiny you might want to keep him from the other chicks until he is steady on his feet. Just my thoughts that. Once he starts eating and fills out he will get big quick.

Oh and your fan sounds horrible. You knew that already though.

This is HALO!! well its not but sure looks like him!!

Nope. They owe you more hatching eggs. Or a refund. Wrong product. (Not dissing Halo, who is wonderful!)
