After the bumpy start it was actually really nice! She had 4 piglets and we thought that's it. All done, vet left and we connected all our leads to hook up a heat lamp for the new mom and babies, since it was the middle of winter and she was outside. I leant into the pen and saw another little piglet, just born! Phoned the vet to ask how on earth did that happen? She passed the afterbirth and everything? He told me something very interesting. Sows have 2 uteri, so the last piglet was in the second one... Later that evening when I went to check on them I counted 5 piglets. I thought I was miscounting and tried again... 5. I called DH to come count with me... 5. She had one more piglet!

I just found a sick hen, My Fluffy girl, daddo and kids have been doing my job for the past two weeks, so today I went to spend time with them and realized Fluffy wasnt acting right and when I picked her up she is thin and extremely light, I think they werent let her eat since I moved all the feed and water into the coop for the winter, so I brought her in the lower level in a dog kennel and gave her some karo/ACV water along with some yogurt and chick starter.and she is eating it like no tomorrow. her butt has some wet runs too, so not sure what is going on : ( see her comb all dried up, she is a youngin (April) girl Blue Cochin
