Diary of My "Doomed From the Start" Incubation"

Other than a slight green color these eggs look just like the chicken eggs. they have mixed mutt chickens so i thought maybe there was one with some Easter egger heritage in there. When i talked to his mom later she confirmed that only the call ducks in their flock have the green ones. A little exited to see if it hatches and what color it might be :)

My wonderful eBayer sent me a dozen new batam silkie eggs that arrived today. Of the 12 sent, 4 had ruptured air cells (rolling.) NONE were cracked or broken. I thought packaging was AMAZING! The USPS must play football with the packages or something? I will keep you all posted when I candle in a few days :)

Only 4 of the 12 had ruptured air cells or do you mean rolling cells? Either way that is great for shipped eggs!

Well, I am not sure what the difference is with the two words. All I know is that there are at least 4-6 bubbles floating around the egg (all together) when I move it.... Like a level. Would that be ruptured or rolling?

WHAT? YOUR KIDDING? WOOOO HOOOOO. That's great, Is the air cell rolling around or just loose? You can still get those rolling/loose air cells to hatch, in fact, I just had two baby call ducks hatch last night they had loose air cells from DAY1 the air cell never attached or stuck but the ducks were BORN. WOOO HOOO..

I pray that this batch works out great for you. GOOD LUCK keep me informed... WOOO HOOO.. Let the process begin. MAYBE we BEAT the abusive POST OFFICE.. LOL...

OOO yek, those are really hard to get them to stick, Impossible? NO but really hard... DANG...

Ruptured cells are a bummer but still worth trying to incubate. Rolling air cells are one solid air bubble which can roll to the center of the eggs when tipped, or the bad ones will roll end to end. just incubate then standing up small tip down.
