Diatomaceous earth question

Hi, had a mix up with non food grade DE and spread some on barn floor before I realized it was the wrong container and was not the food grade DE. Can this one time accident be harmful to my chickens?? Your comments are appreciated! Thanks, Worried Chicken Mom

According to that website, a major difference between food grade and pool grade (assuming also called regular), is the regulations regarding heavy metal content. I.E., the food grade has less heavy metal. My guess is that a one time accident won't kill your chickens.

Welcome to BYC. I wouldnt worry about the non food grade DE on the barn floor. I wouldnt worry about buying food grade DE neither, your chickens dont need it.

Have never found any results for using DE in any of its applications. Wouldn't ever waste money on it again.
