Diatomaceous Earth safe with eggs?

What brought them in was rescuing this guy. Dumb me didn't treat the area after and chicks were in the cage next to him.. Stupid, I know now... He sure is pretty though.

Maybe they fight them of easier with superior nutrition? I literally get my feed from a chicken nutritionalist... $37 for a 40 pd bag. Pricey but my birds sell really well for their beauty and brightly colored eggs. Considering I just sold 2 hens for $80 without a reputation it's totally worth it. Gotta love green banty eggs!!! Sorry to load up on irrelevant pics but I am super proud of my results. A lot of hard work and research went into it. Not bad for a person who started with minimal experience and no previous knowledge or schooling in genetics..

Now compare the lists of ingredients in the products recommended to my list of ingredients. Now look up these ingredients and their possible side effects through research studies. Nuff said. Oops, I'm missing water and a spray bottle in the pic...

I'm glad the DE worked for you. It didn't for me.
I'm sorry it didn't.. There are obviously more factors at play as many swear on it and others swear because of it.. I wonder to if humidity plays a role. I live in a mostly dry area. DE is worthless if it gets wet.

So I just put my hand under her again. The load is way down but I pulled a few fat ones. Perhaps they were the ones on her when I cleaned the coop. She is out dust bathing now so that should help. It might be the neem oil cleaning with DE application that works. I still don't trust neem oil and eggs so I'll try to remember to update.. I apologise if I sounded ungrateful. I do appreciate all advice even if I don't take it.. Almost all of you have more experience than me and your help has been invaluable many times. Thank you

If you’re still pulling mites off it isn’t working good enough. Neem oil barely kills enough bugs on plants even when mixed with an emulsifier and added peppermint oil. It may keep the load down but it’s not going to eradicate anything.
DE and Neem oil both work better for the larvae stage of bugs in a garden setting like in the top layer of potted plants, raised beds, etc..
