Thoughts? I know some people swear by it and others don’t use it at all

Any horse people here? Anyone use it on the horses? If using it with chickens how is it used?

I just paid $1 a pound and I plan on just spreading it in with straw and shaving bedding between cleanouts.

It doesn't do a single blessed thing besides cause respiratory issues in anything with lungs. It doesn't control or kill anything. Those who swear by it are usually blogs that are copying info from other blogs that never checked to see if it was indeed effective and safe. It's neiether.

I use it underneath my bee hives to stop, or slow down, tracheal mites.

Permethrin is toxic to cats, used correctly it's safe for many other species. If you want to treat mites/lice on poultry and the coop it's the most common product used. Spinosad also works but is MUCH more expensive. Most products have detailed instructions for use on the labels to ensure proper usage. You can get it in sprays, concentrates and in powder form.

I use it for fleas on my dogs. Works like a charm!

For chickens, It think its fairly ineffective.
