How great! I can hear chirping. This just keeps getting better. ( you can tell this is my first time hatching since I was a kid 25 years ago)

I've hatched several times in the past year and this is just as thrilling as the first!

We're chirpin our way out too. I have alot of birds, and I too get a kick out of each hatch. I finally am gettin to incubate some of the babies from birds who I raise from eggs last year. My fav for this hatch is, of all types, a mutt chick. Everyone is wanting to mix these Orps into project birds. I had my project start with no permission from me, between my Red Speckled Sussex hen and my newly acquired 12 lbs Buff Orp cockerel. lolol I put in 3 of her eggs on the 20th and 2 are developing, and another 2 on the 25th which also are fertile. Don't know how long she would be fertile. After the weather litened up, I put her back outside in her pen with her man Roscoe a Red Speckled Sussex 9 month old cockerel. Not sure what I'll do with some of these chicks. IF I get more then one boy the other is outta here. Depending on what they look like when they grow out, they all may be outta here. lololol

IF he looks like he had fun, it is cause he did have fun. lolol

I have finally gotten my humidity up to 60% after putting two pre-boiled washcloths in.

I'm working from home today and can't stop checking for something to happen.
I was fully prepared to wait until Sunday, but jimma and wonder farm's pips have me anticipating........

Are you using the LG still air? Is the humidity in the room low? I'm using a Brinsea Octagon 20 Eco, filled both water troughs, and I have a washcloth draped over the bottom, dipped into the water and I am barely hitting 60%... If it starts to drop anytime soon I'll have to open the bator, which i *really* don't want to do... I've had shrinkwrapped chicks before, and it is not fun

Yes I am using the LG still air. I have no idea about the room's humidty. Hmmmm...It's cool and wet outside. I wonder if I should open the window?????

I have opened it to add the cloths, although I'd rather them be under the mesh. I have nothing pipping so I might add some sponges under the mesh tonight....I feel like I'm breaking the "lockdown" rules.....

Edit: *** Do I *have* to take out those red plugs in the top????

3 pips now. 1st one still has not made any more progress. I have a LG. I have all the troughs full of water. I have a small bowl full of water, and a washcloth hanging over the side. I use a tiny wire, bent at the very end to move the wash cloth more in or out. The humidity takes a long time to correct, so the adjustments need to be small. I am between 70-80 and have settled at 75. I have 1 plug in and one out. I hope this helps.
