Did anyone set chicken eggs on April 11th?

I set 20 turkey and half a dozen Ameracauna on the 13th. The turkeys will take an extra week so I will set more chickens on the 20th. I plan to candle on the 23rd.

I also have 50 more turkey eggs in the incubator now that will be hatching the 25th and 29th of April.

Me! I did! I set late in the day, after dinner.. it's my second hatch. I'm tweaking a few things and hoping to hatch a few more than the 3 I hatched the last time. I set about a full incubator (42 eggs), mine will be BBS Ameracaunas & BBS Olive eggers, a few Silver Penciled Rocks, and some barnyard mixes from my Welsummers and Marans. I also set 4 Bantam Cochin eggs for a friend.

I set 37 eggs in my incubator on April 11th and my father set 7 in his Brinsea. So far, only two of mine didn't show any progress when I candled last night. I cracked them earlier in a sandwich bag and found that they were infertile. I guess Dorkus Maximus my rooster was having an off day.

My father has said he's seen veins in all seven of his. So hopefully we'll have a nice turnout.

I candled today, day 6. All of the purchased eggs (BBS Ameracauna's and OE) are developing (about 18 eggs). I have a breeding pair of Silver Penciled Rocks, 3 out of their 5 eggs look good. My friends Bantam Cochin eggs..2 were definitely developing, 2 were iffy. The others were either too dark (marans and wellie eggs) to tell, or looked infertile. I believe my ratio of of Roos to hens is too low on my barnyard mix eggs, so I'll need to adjust that before I incubate my own eggs again. Will candle again on day 10 and then decide which eggs to cull.

I candled last night, day 5. At least five of the Ameraucana/EE are growing. Too early to tell on the turkeys, or the sixth, extra dark egg.
