Did anyone set eggs on June 9th? Wanna hatch with me?

We had 9 healthy hatches and one poor little one born without eyes and unable to walk (its right side seemed paralyzed). I had lots of tears yesterday and hubby culled the little one when we realized a viable quality of life was not likely. Keep waiting for this farming stuff to toughen me up but it doesn`t seem to happen.
Here are some photos of our chicks

Oh how sweet! But sad too...I am having a hard time with the whole negative side myself...I break out sobbing for all sorts of really silly things...

Well, as I am typing, I have 3 pips tonight...it is day 19...they are squeaking and rocking and rolling in the bator. I am trying to stay awake, but 1 am is where I draw the line. I will be waking up at 3 to check though, lol...

I also just set 2 dozen Porto eggs in the other bator today...so back to back hatchies!

I will send pictures when my guys decide to grace me with their presence!

Well, I woke up this morning (I was up at 1am and 3am to check too), I have a baby! A pretty little blue silkie with a vaulted skull and nice feet...oh we have named it Coleslaw...lol. I was upset when I woke up. My husband has just finished my brooding room last night...the incubators are supposed to be in there, but I couldn't unplug this one...the cat tried to get the baby in the night...she tore up my bator! No holes, just some missing styrofoam..that little witch!

I have 4 more pips this morning...oh I am so thrilled...A white, a splash and a black...woooohoooo!

I just found out you have chicks from Mary. I like her and her chicks, I also have some from Bobbi. How cool is that? Cats will mess up you hatch if you give them half a chance.

I have to admit, cats are almost as difficult and stubborn and willful as children. Gotta love 'em, tho! I'm glad your bator withstood the assault and protected your little one. Hope all your eggs hatch well!

Coleslaw! That's a cute name! Send us a pic when it's convenient for you; I love seeing all the chickens!

I put mine in on the 9th.

My temp was low for a few days (maybe 3 at the most) 98.8 or so.

My eyes have been glued to the lid; just waitting.
