Did anyone watch election coverage on CNN last night (Tue, Nov 4)?

I voted straight Republican.

[My voting legacy continues, unblemished by being in step with the times.]

I want one for my house and keeping track of appointments! LOL

I'm guessing that this was due to the LONG lines that probably extended far past the actual deadline for voting. I'm so proud that so many Americans came out to vote!

To everyone who exercised their right!

I, too loved the "magic" wall on CNN, but my favorite part was the dramatic music they had to play before Wolf Blitzer would give a projection! He wouldn't say anything until they played it and it cracked me up!

I thought that "music" got a bit old. I did notice how Wolf would hold his breath to make their prediction until the music was over.

We don't have cable, so we watched it on PBS. It was good, even handed coverage, but definitely not flashy. I did check in here and there on CNN's website, they had awesome coverage kept really up to date. I'm a "just the facts" kind of gal.

I watched it and was having a hard time understanding how they called states. For example, at 11 EST the CA, WA and OR polls just closed (and I'm sure folks were still standing in line, as was the case in many states) and they immediately said those states are for Obama and named him the winner. How can they do that with people still casting their votes? It just seems so useless to go out and vote if they're going to name the President before you even make your selection. And even this morning there are states that are undetermined?? It just makes me wonder if they even count votes.

I must say, I was really impressed with the turnout.
