That's not always true. I have had several hens grow spurs.



ETA: OP, none of your birds appear to have spurs, which is even curiouser, because if that red bird was a 2-year-old (or older) roo, he should have at least some spurs starting in...

Yes, I looked that up after posting last night, but I didn't think it was relevant to add at the time. :)



I'm glad other people are seeing the signs of the red bird being a rooster. I was seriously beginning to doubt myself there.

My black bird, Pearl, finally laid her first egg. She is a great mommy. She sat on it for a while so i had to bribe her to get off with some weeds. The brown and white one is definitely a roo! After observing him more and more he is getting his groove on with all the hens now. Thank you all for your help!!
