Did I kill my chick????

She is currently chirping vigorously in the incubator.

The chick's name is Lucky (because she is very lucky to have survived for so long), and her sister is Lint Ball! She is walking around great in her brace. She just absorbed her yolk sac today, and she will stay in the incubator until probably tomorrow evening, depending on how she does.

Will she need medicated feed? Will she be able to be in the same brooder as her sister, or will she need a separate brooder from her sister due to her brace?

I make a mash out of 20% all flock pellets for my chicks.I grind some up in a coffee grinder to get them used to eating it dry.I change the mash out 4 times a day with fresh warm mash.They love it.I don't vaccinate my chicks or give them medicated feed anymore.

I'm wondering if she is going to need to have a specific feed tailored to her needs? She's fine, other than the fact that she is a late hatcher and that she is quite tired.

My babies get all flock from the start, too, but I just buy crumbles and feed it to everybody.

Like what? All-flock has about 20% protein and is scientifically formulated to meet the needs of all the birds in your flock. It contains all her needs. Anything you "add" to her diet is really just subtracting from what she should be eating. You could also put her (and the rest of the flock) on grower, it's essentially the same stuff. Look at the protein content.

Nope. There is nothing you could formulate that would be anywhere close to what she would get from that unmedicated feed. Treat her like you would her hatch-mate and hope for the best.

If she acts poorly you could give her some egg yolk. Not sure if raw or cooked like scrambled is better, but no butter or salt. Hang on, let me ask someone.
